book club with a side of wildflowers

We planned a detour on our way to the "Cuckoo Bird Book Club". A picnic in the wildflowers with some fellow Cuckoo Birds. The weather was fantastic, the company was fabulous, and the flowers were spectacular. We actually ended up coming home with some polliwogs.

Our first official book club meeting! We had all finished "The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane" and were eager to discuss it. The kids, being 7 and 8, enjoyed the large backyard, running and playing. Us mommies did get them to sit together and discuss some of their favorite stuffed animals, and to talk about certain parts of the story. They all unanimously loved the book! Their versions of Edward Tulane were worth every bit of it!

Next book: "Understood Betsy" by Dorothy Canfield Fisher
