Mother Necessity

My daughter, Ruby, attends a music class at her school, and just recently received her very own Glockenspiel (what do you mean you don't know what that is?). Well, because I wanted to keep that baby protected, but mostly because I have a need to make bags, I went ahead and made an adorable, padded, custom bag for her brand new Glockenspiel (I still can't say that word without giggling).

Valentine Art

I thought this was a great Valentine art project for the kiddos! I found it at Art Projects for Kids. What do I consider a great art project for kids?

Not too many obscure materials (I don't like the idea of having to go buy a bunch of stuff I won't ever use again).

Not needing a lot of detail, or specific skill (but wouldn't be boring if you did have such skills).

Having great results, (enough to make the artist proud and confident).

I'm planning on having my girls reproduce this idea, in some shape or form, this Valentine's season, perhaps turn this idea into cards for loved ones...

Diving In

Yes, today I'm diving in. I've been savoring this stack of new fabric all week, and finally had a chance to do something with it. After all that beautiful sunny hot weather, I am now totally enjoying our few days of rain.
